My father George Anthony Waller had a few specific items he treasured. One was a marble coffee table from his parents George and Jane Waller. This table top was VERY heavy. As Bob and I moved Dad from place to place, he always moved this coffee table with him. It tried to damage us several times, but we persevered.
Here is a photo of the table at his condo.
In April 2023 the table was accidentally broken, and Dad was quite sad. He only had the pieces of the marble left. I told him I would find a way to turn them into mementos for all the family members. He really liked that idea. He wanted them engraved with his parents’ names so we would all remember where this marble came from.
I was on an extremely tight budget at the time. I researched how to cut the marble myself but it seemed too daunting. So I put the task off for a later date.
I am now talking with family members to figure out how we can approach this project.
Here is the largest piece, on the right. The rest are smaller pieces.
