Girl Painting from Rio de Janeiro by Reinaldo Manzke

One of the items from George and Jane Waller is a Brazilian painting of a girl in a hat. The back of the painting says:

Rio de Janeiro 1959

This appears to be a work by Brazilian painter Reinaldo Manzke (also credited as Reynaldo Manzke). Reinaldo born in Santa Catarina, Brazil in 1906. He died in 1980, also in Brazil. He was trained at the convent of Saint Antonio in Blumenau. In later years he exhibited in the San Paolo area. He made a market of selling his works to tourists in the Rio de Janeiro area.

He was primarily known for landscape paintings of beautiful rural Brazilian scenes.  In all my searches, I can only rarely find that he painted portraits of people.

His paintings tend to go for about $100 each.

All photos of this unique painting are taken by Lisa Shea and are copyright to Lisa Shea. This painting is in my house and not in a public space.
